Spoon carving in green wood

This practical 1 day course is a great introduction to the world of green woodworking. You’ll learn about the make-up of wood and tips for identifying the best materials to use for your woodcraft. You’ll be introduced to the range of traditional tools used in green woodworking and will be given tuition in the ancient skills of crafting beautiful pieces without the need for any power tools.

We'll give you a log. You turn it into a spoon!

Armed with these tools and skills, you’ll then be presented with a recently cut ‘green’ log, which you will then miraculously turn into your very own unique piece - either a wooden spoon or spatula depending on your preference.  Steve and Bob will guide you through the various steps and be there to support you, but this will be very much your piece of work cut by your own hand, ready to take home at the end of the day for you to proudly stir your dinner!
