Spoon carving £80

  • Turning Hare Woodcraft Copthorne, North Petherwin PL15 8NB United Kingdom (map)

Craft your own spoon in a day – an Introduction to green woodworking skills.

Make a spoon from a log in day. This hugely enjoyable and satisfying 1 day course is a great introduction to traditional ‘green wood working’ skills. Under expert guidance, you’ll use froe, side-axe, whittling knives and a rope-powered work bench to turn a recently felled bit of tree into a carved wooden spoon, spatula or even a coffee scoop. It’s peaceful, you work in your own time and receive all the help and advice you need.

The course is suitable for absolutely anyone who’d enjoy learning a traditional skill in a beautiful rural environment. Our courses attract people who enjoy handicrafts, as well as complete novices who have never made anything - and ‘millennials looking for an analogue experience’! No previous woodworking experience is necessary.  All tools, materials and (delicious) food provided.
